Baniyas Club began its 2025–2026 ADNOC Pro League campaign with a 2–0 defeat against hosts Al Wasl, in the match played on Sunday evening at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai as part of the first round of the competition.

The match started with high intensity, as Baniyas relied on defensive organization and quick transitions, while Al Wasl managed to capitalize on a set-piece to score the opening goal in the 23rd minute through Adryelson Silva.

In the second half, Baniyas pushed forward in search of an equalizer and created a number of opportunities, but Al Wasl doubled their advantage in the 72nd minute through Pedro Malheiro, sealing the victory for the home side.

Despite the result, the Sky Blues showed strong tactical discipline and fighting spirit throughout the encounter, marking the beginning of a long season in which the team will continue to grow and aim for improved performances and positive results.
