Baniyas tied with its host Al-Orooba, with a score of two goals for both teams, in the Professional League Cup competition, which was held at Ajman Stadium.

Al-Samawi entered the meeting with a squad that witnessed many changes, which included Muhammad Khalaf, Salem Al Balushi, Sasa, Khamis Al Hammadi, Hussein Abbas, Muhammad Hamdan, Amer Abdul Rahman, Ahmed Rabie, Shaheen Sorour, Said Khamis, and Muhammad Rashid.

Al-Samawi opened the scoring through Said Khamis in the 36th minute of the first half time.

At the beginning of the second half, Al Orooba responded strongly when it reduced the difference in the 46th minute and added the second goal in the 50th minute, bringing Al Orooba ahead in the result of the match.

Only ten minutes later, Baniyas managed to adjust the result and return to the match through the same player Said Khamis in the 60th minute, and the match ended in a positive tie with two goals.

It is worth to mention that the match witnessed the return of Khaled Al-Attas to the field after a long absence due to a cruciate ligament injury.
